After scoring short films for director Thomas Torres-Cordova in the later ’90s, Pole Placement began concenatrating alone recordings, which earned attention for his or her neo-new wave attributes. The duo, made up of Portuguese-Americans Rui Guerreiro and Daniel Da Silva, started writing songs collectively in 1997. Located in Newark, NJ, simply outside of NEW YORK, the duo started dealing with Torres-Cordova in 1998, rating his short movies during 1999 and 2000. Though Pole Placement experienced released the Bionic Males solitary in 1998 and Vision Spy, a break up solitary with Sao Paulo and Heartz Assault, in 1999, the duo didn’t garner very much attention before launch of XO in 2002. Released individually, the eight-song prolonged EP maintained the duo’s cinematic tendencies but also integrated subtle Latin components and a fresh wave-esque synth pop audio that particularly thrilled many critics. Pole Placement performed several selective displays around the brand new York area to get the EP’s launch.
