Pokey

Southern bluesman Pokey Carry (also known simply as Pokey) injects a larger-than-life swagger into his R&B-infused bayou spirit. Comparable in old-school audio and soul to Willie Clayton, the Baton Rouge party-starter can be a Wayne Brown-influenced soul guy in mind. One-third from the Louisiana Blues Brothas with Tyree Neal and Adrian Bagher (the trio released Love around the Bayou in 2014), Pokey Carry also released the single effort Josephine Child Pokey in 2014. The recording included sensual dance songs like “The Gingerbread Man” and “Mr. Strike It and Stop It” in addition to his de facto theme track, “They Contact Me Pokey.” Mr. It Ain’t Good found its way to January 2016. The recording featured regional dancefloor strike “Good Feet” and “Tremble That Money Manufacturer” with Mystikal.
