Pokey LaFarge

Fusing the seems of days gone by using the energy of present, Americana singer/songwriter Pokey LaFarge makes old-time country-, blues-, folk-, and Western swing-influenced music. Created Andrew Heissler in Bloomington, Illinois in 1983, LaFarge created an early fascination with American books and history, aswell as origins music from the 20th hundred years. By his teenagers, LaFarge was merging his passions into his personal music, associated himself on acoustic guitar, mandolin, and banjo. After graduating senior high school, LaFarge used an itinerant life-style — aswell as the nickname Pokey — and journeyed around america, often carrying out on street edges. In November 2014, LaFarge authorized a new documenting cope with the reputed root base music label Rounder Information, and his initial record for Rounder, Something in water (made by Jimmy Sutton, best-known for his use JD McPherson), made an appearance in Apr 2015.
