The origins of Seattle’s metallic, complex, screaming, and inventive Using Foe could be traced back again to another band, a band called Kiss It Farewell. Kiss It Goodbye produced when Deadguy’s vocalist and guitarist confident ex-Rorschach drummer Andrew Gormley and previous Rorschach bassist Thom Rusnak to relocate towards the Northwest. They released a remarkable record through Revelation before their founding guitarist exited. Guitarist Demian “Headboy” Johnston (previously of Nine Iron Spitfire and Undertow) emerged up to speed and documented the band’s last one together, prior to the group disbanded. In 1999, Gormely and Johnston reunited as Playing Foe, with Johnston overtaking vocal duties aswell. The Bloodstream Brothers’ Morgan Henderson loaded in on bass as Playing Foe started demoing and executing live. The group distributed demonstration tracks via the web, soon after getting into a West Coastline tour with New York’s Anodyne. Anodyne presented Playing Foe to Escape Musician Information, who quickly decided to discharge their debut record. In nov 2000, Rusnak rejoined his outdated pals as Playing Enemy’s bass participant, and the music group recorded Cesarean by using manufacturer Matt Bayles (Pearl Jam, Isis, Botch) prior to the end of the entire year. In 2001, Rusnak still left the music group and was changed by Indiana transplant Shane Mehling. The record was released within the springtime of 2001.
