Being a working-class foursome from Allentown, Pa, Pissed Skinny jeans vent their frustrations through a bludgeoning, midtempo grunge punk audio centered on sexual unhappiness and factory-town hopelessness, all doused in much layer of sarcasm and apathy. On the sweltering August evening in 2003, the Gatecrashers had been driving between LA and SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA while rocking out to Globe Wrestling Federation: The Music, Vol. 2. Through the peak from the sweaty singalong they understood these were onto something particular and decided it might be fun to create a side task where they sang music in the vein from the Whittingtons’ “I’m Teen, Dumb and Filled with Cum,” the theory getting that everyone would swap equipment and create music for meatheads. Enveloped with the discomforting disposition supplied by the car’s damaged air conditioning equipment, they reasoned which the vibe from the music ought to be just like the oppressive high temperature inside the automobile — frustrating and made to drain the listener’s energy. With affects which range from early-’80s punk to ’90s hardcore, the associates from the Gatecrashers (Matt Korvette, Bradley Fry, Dave Rosenstrauss, and Tim) began penning songs for the demo beneath the name Unrequited Hard-On. Immediately after, they transformed their name to Pissed Skinny jeans and recorded another demo by adding a new melody, “Night A few minutes.” After concocting a fresh batch of woeful anti-authoritative materials, they released a 7″ entitled Throbbing Body organ, and their initial LP, Shallow, on Parts Unidentified (afterwards remastered and reissued by Sub Pop Information in 2014). Shallow branched faraway from the noises of Flipper and Stay Males with Rayguns into sludgier and even more droning territory. Following the departure of drummer Tim, they recruited Sean McGuinness to dominate, and the music group authorized to iconic grunge label Sub Pop. Despite their brand-new position, the bandmembers held their day careers. Guitarist Fry continuing working in accounts administration, bassist Rosenstrauss transformed cars to perform on biodiesel, and frontman Korvette proved helpful as a promises adjuster for an insurance provider. The blue-collar life-style fueled the lyrical fireplace for the 7″ released on June 6, 2006, known as I Don’t Want Smoke to create Myself Disappear, an irritated ditty about employed in a cafe and despising the customers. The following calendar year, Pissed Skinny jeans released their second full-length, the large, plodding Expect Guys for Sub Pop, while staying within their hometown. After touring and producing a video for “I’ve Got You Glaciers Cream,” the group came back with Ruler of Jeans in ’09 2009. A 4th album, Honeys, found its way to 2013. In 2017, the music group returned using its 5th studio record, Why Love Today, supplying a typically acerbic opinion over the mundane components of everyday life.
