Pink Military

Pink Army was mostly of the groups to result from Liverpool through the post-punk period of the past due ’70s and early ’80s that took from non-rock moments like disco and reggae. Some of the functions that originated from the Liverpool golf club Eric’s were even more rock-based (Echo & the Bunnymen, Wah!, the Teardrop Explodes), Red Military had even more in common using the non-Liverpool sets of enough time that appeared outside of rock and roll & roll’s background for inspiration. Following the separation of Big in Japan, Jayne Casey created Pink Military STANDALONE with keyboardist/guitarist Nicky Great; the rest of the group regular membership commonly transformed from release release a. Within a few weeks of their 1st gig, the live EP Buddha Waking Disney Sleeping was self-released on Last Trumpet. A 12″ from the name of Bloodstream and Lipstick was out by Oct from the same 12 months, released on Eric’s, the label associated with the Liverpool golf club. Shortening the group’s name to Red Armed service, the LP Perform Animals Have confidence in God? was released in June of 1980. The group — which during the album’s launch included the nucleus of Casey and Great, along with keyboardist Charlie Griffiths, ex-Yachts bassist Martin Dempsey, long term Simply Crimson drummer Chris Joyce, and percussionist Neil Innes — dissolved immediately after. Casey continuing in the much longer running Pink Market.
