Pink Grease

Offering up a pungent mixture of punk noises and electronic sleaze, the Sheffield-based sextet Green Grease performed their first gig because the Buttf*ckers, then morphed into Green Grease as well as the Evil X. By enough time they produced their debut 7″, Functioning All Day, that was released by Horseglue Information, the imprint developed by Spirit Jazz creator Ethan Reid and Barry 7 of Add N to (X), these were known basically as Green Grease. Early in 2003 the group came back with the Spirit Paco EP and once again that springtime using a mini-album, AROUND You, that your band documented in NEW YORK and was co-released by Horseglue and Mute. The group marketed their fusion of 1977-design punk, disco, and analog weirdness (including home-made synths) by touring the U.K. within the springtime of 2003, helping performers as diverse as Ladytron as well as the Soledad Brothers. In addition they documented their full-length debut, THAT IS for Genuine, that season with manufacturer Stephen Lironi and released a DVD of the tour exploits, The Nasty Present Dvd movie, that fall. The entire year 2004 was also active for the music group, with the one Fever as well as the straight-to-video zombie film Creep Killers arriving several months before THAT IS for Real’s summertime release.
