Pin Group

The first signing from the legendary New Zealand label Soaring Nun, Christchurch-based noise pop trio the Pin Group, teamed singer/guitarist Roy Montgomery, bassist Ross Humphrey, and drummer Peter Stapleton. Their 1981 debut solitary, the Pleasure Division-influenced “Ambivalence,” was the first launch on Soaring Nun, issued within an release of 300 copies; the follow-up, “Coating,” appeared later on that same 12 months. After a 1982 EP, The Pin Group Head to City, the music group dissolved when Montgomery journeyed to London for any year-long study system; he and Stapleton later on renewed their cooperation as users of drone retailers Dadamah, with the entire Pin Group lineup reuniting in 1992 to record a one-off solitary, “Eleven Years After.”
