Far from yet another run-of-the-mill rapper, Pimp-T (aka Brockway Biggs) defies the connotations his moniker without doubt incites, rather wowing listeners along with his thoughtful rhymes and laudable ideology. Delivered Troy Neilson and hailing from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, of most areas, the rapper’s moniker is actually an acronym (“Power Is certainly Mindful Tranquility”). Hence, he’s no procurer of prostitutes; rather, he’s significantly literate, having spent many years being a music journalist for The Brunswickan, where he analyzed almost 200 albums and interviewed countless underground rap performers. Neilson produced the step in 2000 from journalism, where he was referred to as Trizoy, to lyricism, where he billed himself as Pimp-T. He properly debuted with “Tha Pimp-T Theme,” a satirical one-off documenting that extremely became a high Five nominee to discover the best Hip-Hop recording on the 2000 Urban Music Association of Canada (UMAC) Honours.
