While his details as Series 500 for Brighton label Curor gained critical acclaim despite few sales, they did flourish in drawing the interest of Paul Arnold, who was simply quick to sign the strip-lit electronica of Stuart Cullen to his Certificate 18 imprint; moving out the Digital Projects subtitle designed for Cullen’s produces. His initial full-length for the label, Antenna, extended around the tortured orchestration of his debut solitary, Tonic, propelling dysfunctional beats through paper-thin synths with excellent elegance. The emphasis throughout both this early function and second album DO IT Man was to soften the most common sharp edges of electronica having a hard-to-place organic advantage.
