Pierre Garat

Students of Beck in Bordeaux Garat developed his ways of singing by hearing and imitating Italian singers in Paris. He performed at Versailles and was a preferred of Marie-Antoinette who actually went as far as to pay out his way to avoid it of dept on two independent occasions. He trained in the Conservatoire from 1796 until 1823 concentrating on interpretation and manifestation. Garat’s personal emphases in teaching had been apparent within the stage. He was regarded as the most important interpreter of Gluck and perfected manifestation through his tone of voice.
