Phillip F. Böddecker

A composer who wrote sonatas for violin, basoon, eight sacred concertos, chapel items and a discourse on “basso continuo”. Boddecker was a bassonist and organist who was simply in a position to communicate in vocal music a feeling of the written text through his set up and design, and, effectively used different rhythms and harmonic strategies in his compositions. His released music represents a number of the first types of the sonata in Germany.
