b. London, Britain. Bent performed the recorder at college then continued to review flute because he needed a bigger audio. Audio itself, the exploration of textures, is essential to him, but you’ll find nothing educational or abstract about his music. He uses amplified flute – important whenever there are electrical musical instruments in his music group – and rhythms from rock and roll, funk and reggae. Like a lot of his era of black United kingdom players he was raised on reggae, funk and spirit and was drawn to jazz by hearing Louis Armstrong, Harold McNair and Mls Davis. Davis is actually the main impact in his function, but Bent can be focused on developing his very own voice by himself conditions. He was an associate from the Jazz Warriors, showing up on the live debut, Out OF SEVERAL, One People (1987).
