Tenor saxophonist Phil Solid wood and synthesizer participant Chris Swansen play contemporary jazz with components of traditional bebop. Their Piper in the Gates of Dawn recording was nominated for Greatest Jazz Instrumental Overall performance for an organization in 1985 and features the vocals of Charlie Parker’s child, Kim.
