Phil Manley

Best known among the founding users of Washington, D.C.’s electro-rock trio Trans Am, Phil Manley also pursued additional projects. He designed albums for Arp, Mi Ami, Moon Duo, and Wooden Shjips, among additional acts, and in addition played acoustic guitar with Krautrock worshippers Jonas Reinhardt. In 2011, Manley released his single debut, Life Trainer, which was influenced from the “klangfarben” (audio colours) of German record engineer Conny Plank, who documented with Kraftwerk, Popol Vuh, and Cluster.
