Phil Leadbetter

Phil Leadbetter (b. March 31, 1962, Knoxville, TN), lengthy known for his helping roles in a variety of traditional bluegrass rings, began playing skillfully when he was just 14. Leadbetter arrived some amazing gigs that initial year, earning employment at what’s today Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN, aswell as performing on the Light House for Leader Gerald Ford. Afterwards Leadbetter appeared in a number of successful bands like the Vern Gosdin Music group, the Grandpa Jones Music group, and New Dawn, the state band from the 1982 World’s Good in Knoxville. He made an appearance on many albums with J.D. Crowe and the brand new South, from 1991, including 1994’s Grammy-nominated recording, Flashback (Rounder). His 1st solo work, Philibuster, earned essential praise because of its all-instrumental display of Leadbetter’s theoretically skillful and soulful Dobro playing.
