Phil Baxter

b. 5 Sept 1896, Navarro State, Tx, USA, d. 21 November 1972, Dallas, Tx, USA. A music group head, songwriter, and pianist, Baxter researched at Daniel Baker University, and, after armed forces service in Globe Battle I, led his very own rings in the 20s. In the past due 20s he had written what and music for ‘I’m A Ding Dong Daddy From Dumas’, which became popular for Louis Armstrong, and was performed with the Benny Goodman Orchestra in the film Hollywood Resort (1938); and ‘Piccolo Pete’, that was successful on record for Harry Reser’s Orchestra, Ted Weems, as well as the Six Jumping Jacks, aswell as being highlighted in the favorite Rudy Vallee film, The Vagabond Fan (1929). Baxter’s various other songs through the 30s included ‘A Faded Summertime Love’, that was quite effective for Paul Whiteman and Bing Crosby, ‘Allow’s Possess A Party’, ‘One Guy Music group’, ‘Have got A Little Fantasy On Me’, and ‘Heading! Going!! Eliminated!!!’, popular for Man Lombardo. Following this flurry of activity in the 30s, Baxter remaining the music business and retired to Dallas.
