Phebe Starr

Australian indie singer Phebe Starr crafts electro-pop in the vein of Lykke Li, Marina & the Gemstones, and Zara Larsson, but with a natural, mystic edge just like Florence and the device, Kimbra, or Kate Bush. She was raised in the tiny city of Dorrigo near Coff’s Coastline, midway between Brisbane and Sydney. In Dorrigo, she was mostly of the music artists, songwriting from age two and developing her vocals by performing along with Johnny Money, Elvis Costello, Janis Joplin, B-52s, Wayne Taylor, and Waylon Jennings. Coupled with her personal favorites like Björk, the Treatment, and Michael Jackson, the ensuing music builds upon atmospheric synths having a sharp concentrate on songcraft and melody. Her initial hit, “By itself with You,” found its way to 2012 and was marketed by Australian radio place Triple J. The one was featured on her behalf debut EP, 2014’s No. That same calendar year, she lent her vocals to Capetown’s tropical dance monitor “THE NIGHT TIME.” In 2016, she released “Experience My Like,” a harp-laden project that could feature on her behalf follow-up EP Chronicles.
