Pharaohs

The Los Angeles-based disco/house group Pharaohs were formed in ’09 2009 by producers Alejandro Cohen and Samuel Cooper, who met in an archive store and bonded over their purchases. The duo started experimenting L.A. having a revolving solid of music artists before adding third member Suzanne Kraft and documenting their four-track debut EP “Uhh Uhh” for the tastemaking L.A. disco and home label 100% Silk in Oct of 2011. The group spent 2012 playing displays and focusing on recordings, resurfacing on vinyl fabric in January of 2013 using the Isle Period 12″ for ESP Institute. The recording combined live instrumentation using the machines, using the group attracting Franco Falsini from the ’70s Italian prog rock and roll group Feelings’ Fix to try out acoustic guitar. The band’s full-length debut, Replicant Moods, adopted shortly and premiered in Apr of 2013 on 100% Silk.
