A prominent People from france musicologist and teacher, Catherine Cessac has played a significant part in the rediscovery of Marc-Antoine Charpentier, a seventeenth-century People from france composer, once seen as a marginal physique, but later on, in the past due twentieth and early twenty-first hundreds of years, recognized as among the giants from the music Baroque. Cessac can be the writer of two additional essential monographs: Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre: une femme compositeur sous le règne de Louis XIV (1995) and Nicolas Clérambault (1998). Broadly respected on her behalf exceptional efforts to Baroque music scholarship or grant, Cessac happens to be a researcher in the Center Country wide de Recherche Scientifique, in Paris.
