Percussionist/composer Peter Ulrich could very well be most widely known for his long-time cooperation with Dead May Dance. Ulrich became a member of the group in 1983 and made an appearance on albums like Backyard of Arcane Delights, Inside the Realm of the Dying Sunlight, and Spiritchaser, and was a touring person in the group until 1990. He also collaborated on Ivo Watts-Russell’s This Mortal Coil task, contributing the melody “INITIALLY, AND” to Filigree and Darkness, and also used 4AD labelmates Michael Brook as well as the Wolfgang Press as an incidental percussionist. 1999 noticed Ulrich indication to Projekt Information, and Pathways & Dawns, his debut for the label, also highlighted former Deceased Can Dance bandmate Brendan Perry being a manufacturer and arranger. Another solo record, Enter the Mysterium, premiered in 2005. In 2013, he released The Painted Caravan beneath the name The Peter Ulrich Cooperation, dealing with different performers like Sara Wendt, David Steele, Jen Elliott, Kingsley Sage of Anemo, and Saskia Dommisse from the music group Poets with their Beloved.
