Peter Niklas Wilson

The dual-talented bassist has recorded and/or performed with such notable avant-gardists as Anthony Braxton, Malcolm Goldstein, Fred Frith, Derek Bailey, Marion Dark brown, Gene Coleman, Vinko Globokar, Barry Guy, Peter Kowald, Evan Parker, Keith Rowe, John Tchicai, among others. Wilson can be a scholar of be aware; he examined musicology on the colleges of Göttingen and Hamburg, and provides written books over the lives and music of Ornette Coleman, Sonny Rollins, Mls Davis, Albert Ayler, and Charlie Parker. Generally self-taught being a bassist, Wilson discovered partly by participating in workshops by such music artists as John Tchicai, Barre Phillips, and Fernando Grillo. Wilson helped discovered Lot Artwork, a Hamburg improviser’s collective. He’s also an associate of the Lot Art Ensemble as well as the Lot Artwork String Quartet. In 1996, Wilson documented Yarbles for the hatART label using a trio that included saxophonist Martin Pfleiderer and percussionist Burkhard Beins. In 1998, Wilson, with Rajesh Mehta and Vlatko Kucan, founded the real Muze record label; the trio documented as the real Muze All Superstars. Accurate Muze also released a duo record by Wilson and violinist Goldstein. Wilson provides taught on the School of Hamburg as well as the Hochschule für Musik und Movie theater.
