Peter Escott

A poet, musician, and comedian, Australian Peter Escott is most beneficial known as an associate of the Local Pet cats, a two-man music group known for his or her lean mixture of indie rock and roll melodies, low-tech electronic devices, and edgy, introspective lyrics coping with human being relationships of most sorts. A indigenous of Hobart, Tasmania, Escott, a tuned pianist, teamed up with Julian Teakle from the Frustrations in 2007 to create the Local Cats, who quickly gained a cult pursuing for their exclusive music. Simultaneously playful but disturbingly extreme, the Local Cats discovered Escott composing the lyrics and offering a lot of the accompaniment having a drum machine and a Nintendo DS powering a synthesizer while Teakle co-wrote the music and performed bass. As the Local Cats began bringing in a pursuing, Escott had been searching for different strategies for his musical ideals; as the debut Local Cats recording, Always On, made an appearance in ’09 2009, Escott experienced already issued some limited-edition CD-R albums specialized in his piano items, and he self-released the official single work, Slowcoach, in 2008. In 2014, a calendar year after the Local Cats enjoyed a significant critical success using their third record, Dallas, Escott released a fresh single work, The Long O, where he plays all of the equipment himself, including piano, synthesizer, melodica, and what he telephone calls “a solitary, awkwardly self-taught electric guitar chord.”
