Reed participant Peter A. Schmid was created in 1959 and presently makes his house in Uster, Switzerland. His desire for the bass end of deep reed devices offers led him to take part in dozen of tasks that blur the margins of jazz, free of charge improvisation, and traditional music, generally with duos, although he’s also a dynamic person in the quartet SCHMILZ, which features bass clarinet, as well as the blowing wind quintet September Blowing wind. A fascinating recording, Birdology, which Schmid documented with fellow reed participant Vinny Golia, premiered on Leo Information in 2004. The duo attemptedto approximate the decision and response of parrot track on Birdology with a variety of clarinets, saxophones, and flutes, producing a wonderful type of chamber improv.
