Biography
An especially polarizing musician — something of the pop-punk figurehead and entrepreneur within a picture that once prided itself in having no superstar — Pete Wentz produced a name for himself in the first 2000s because the outspoken bassist and lyricist for the favorite Chicago pop-punk device Fall Out Son. Created Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz III within the Chicago suburb of Wilmette, Wentz (b. June 5, 1979) was raised a devoted soccer participant and music lover. He liked the Smiths, discovered to try out piano at a age, and finally found the bass acoustic guitar, deciding he wished to maintain a punk music group. At age group 14, during his freshmen yr of senior high school, Wentz began regularly skipping college, so much in order that his parents had been eventually persuaded to send out him to some tough-love training for eight weeks to straighten him out. Hating every second, Wentz discovered to internalize his feelings during the plan; down the road, music and composing thus became one of is own only real outlet stores for appearance — the extremely personal character of his lyrics and his smart wordplay conveniently resonated with supporters and added to FALLOUT Boy’s reputation. As a teenager, Wentz eventually started cutting his tooth in a variety of punk and hardcore rings throughout the regional picture, frequently playing in multiple groupings simultaneously and creating a name for himself amid Chicago punk circles. He especially served amount of time in the ’90s using metalcore serves Racetraitor and Arma Angelus, portion because the growling business lead vocalist for the last mentioned, by which he fulfilled guitarist and upcoming FALLOUT Boy bandmate Joe Trohman. Trohman contacted Wentz about setting up a poppier punk group jointly, and FALLOUT Boy was hence blessed in 2001; Wentz eventually still left Arma Angelus to focus on the new music group full-time. FALLOUT Boy steadily developed a devoted grassroots following in the united states (Wentz specifically spent lots of time communicating straight and building kinships with supporters) before exploding in to the mainstream awareness making use of their 2005 record, From Beneath the Cork Tree. During focus on the record, pressure and tension began greatly impacting him; he started isolating himself and eventually overdosed on nervousness medicine in early 2005, resulting in a weeklong medical center stay. He retrieved, and as FALLOUT Boy’s celebrity increased — thrusting emo and pop-punk onto radio and MTV airwaves alongside NJ peers My Chemical substance Romance — therefore do Wentz’s, and he essentially became the facial skin (and mouth area) of FALLOUT Boy and a whole picture. Wentz (eyeliner, limited jeans and everything) abruptly became an individual appealing to gossip columns and tabloids; they specifically fed off a definite event in early 2006 where nude photos used of him on his cellular phone leaked online. The paparazzi also liked documenting his later on love with pop vocalist Ashlee Simpson. A lot more than only a musician — and far like his idol Jay-Z — Wentz got involved with a number of projects apart from FALLOUT Boy, including performing as the mind of his vanity label Decaydance (an imprint of Fueled by Ramen Information), where his A&R function resulted in the signing from the broadly successful Panic! in the Disco, amongst others. Wentz further began a clothing business/publication distributor known as Clandestine Sectors, and had written a graphic book entitled The Boy using the Thorn in His Part, which was influenced by the persistent sleeping disorders and nightmares he’d got as a youngster. In the summertime of 2007, Wentz opened up a pub with a few of his musical co-workers and close friends (including members from the Academy Is usually… and Gym Course Heroes) in NY City’s East Town known as Angels and Kings.

It's important for girls to understand that they don't need to just be coat hangers for boys. It's not all about being groupies. |
2 |
I can be unhappy and I can be happy, I am just one human being that thinks about my life and tries to figure myself out. When I write about feeling ****** it's not because I want to put on black nail varnish and when I write songs about being happy it's not because I sold a million records. It's because I am going through my life and figuring it out as I go along. |
3 |
I obsessively wanted to be in bands. I was probably fourteen when I got my first bass it was my friend's brother's, and we stole it. I was really into the idea that we could just play basement shows. The name of the first band was First Born, and it was terrible. We played this hair-metal place in Iowa they gave you 150 tickets to sell, and you give them the money. We gave the tickets away, said we lost the money, and this old Italian guy almost beat the f**k out of us. But to me it was awesome. |
4 |
I guess we're just one of those bands that just polarizes people. Some people worship the ground we walk on, and some people say we're ruining music and should just shut out mouths. If you want to keep either of those opinions, you should try not to engage us in a real conversation. (On being voted worst band of 2005 by Spin magazine.) |

Underwear. It's like a god damned leash. It also constantly reminds me of how funny I look naked. |
6 |
I was isolating myself further and further, and the more I isolated myself, the more isolated I'd feel. I wasn't sleeping. I just wanted my head to shut off, like, I just wanted to completely stop thinking about anything at all. - Rolling Stone Magazine On Ativan O.D Incident |
7 |
We're sick of hearing people say "that band is so gay" or "those guys are fags". Gay is not a synonym for shitty. If you want to say something's shitty, say it's shitty. Stop being such homophobic assholes! |
8 |
See, there's the bands that you say you like to sound smart, and there's the bands you say you like to get laid. And then there's the bands you really listen to. -Rolling Stone Interview |

My parents treat me like I'm 14. They make me clean my room and stuff like that. They're always like "I don't care what MTV says you are. |

You can live with me in this house I've built out of writers blocks. |

If you know me you know how uncool I am. I stutter, wear bad clothes, make bad jokes, make conversation uncomfortable, the list goes on. Thank you for making me feel okay. |
