For some general rock and roll fans, the Pete Best tale ends on August 16, 1962. That’s when Beatles supervisor Brian Epstein informed the regrettable drummer that he had been changed by Ringo Starr, simply weeks prior to the group would record their 1st single. Whether he was typically the most popular Beatle here is still a matter of scorching dispute, but he was definitely very popular using the enthusiasts, especially the feminine types.
