Infestation is really a southeast London group whose users have varying backgrounds (techno, hip-hop, jazz, etc.), making for an unsurprisingly exclusive mixture of breakbeat funk with abstract playing. Before they arrived collectively to record a 2003 record for Ninja Melody, users from the quintet worked well, variously, like a hip-hop DJ, a traditional cellist (who’s made an appearance with Origins Manuva and worked well as a garage area maker), a techno trackmaster for the Flatline label, a trombone participant (who’s also into African percussion), along with a guitarist who spent period in the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. Infestation can be an achieved live music group, playing out in London and beyond as Spynaworkshop.
