Perico Sambeat Quartet

b. 23 July 1962, Valencia, Spain. Sambeat researched music officially, favouring the alto saxophone. After playing jazz locally his status steadily spread throughout Spain and by the past due 80s his worldwide reputation was founded. A robust and thrilling saxophonist that has been likened to Phil Woods for his open fire and strength, Sambeat continues to be important in combining jazz and flamenco, much less a gimmick but with integrity towards both forms. One of the better of many great jazz music artists to result from Spain, Sambeat provides often caused visitors from abroad, included in this Brad Mehldau, Tag Turner and Kurt Rosenwinkel, with whom he documented in 1993 and 1995. Among Spanish music artists with whom he spent some time working are guitarist Gerardo Nuñez (electric guitar), Mario Rossy (bass), and Jordi Rossy (drums). Early in 1993 Sambeat produced his debut at Ronnie Scott’s membership in London and was instantly booked for the return appearance afterwards that calendar year. He in addition has caused Bruce Barth (piano), Michael Brecker (saxophone), and Michael Phillip Mossman and Wallace Roney (trumpet). He also documented Danza Negra as an associate of Memoryón Valle’s trio. In 2003, Sambeat restored his working romantic relationship with Mehldau and Rosenwinkel, alongside Ben Road (bass) and Jeff Ballard (drums) and was energetic in various elements of Europe and specifically in his homeland.
