Per Gudmundson

Swedish fiddler and bagpipe participant Per Gudmundson borrows from the original music of his homeland as well as the modern, improvisational nature of jazz to make a exclusive sound, whether as an associate from the Nordic jazz trio Frifot or being a single participant or collaborator. Gudmundson’s music initial appeared in america in the 1993 collection Scandinavian Valley Music, and the next year he added to Frifot bandmate Lena Willemark’s Nordan record. Frifot’s 1999 record Summersong proclaimed the group’s US debut, which season Gudmundson also made an appearance in the Nordic Folk Musical instruments and Violins Of European countries compilations.
