Penny & Sparrow

Indie folk singer/songwriter duo Cent & Sparrow shaped in 2011 while users Andy Baxter and Kyle Jahnke were living as roommates in the University or college of Tx in Austin. Influenced by acts just like the Swell Time of year, Bon Iver, and Mumford & Sons, both friends began composing and singing collectively, designing simple acoustic plans and recording on the laptop. Their 1st work, a three-song EP known as Creature, launched the warm, genuine balladry that could become their phoning cards. Their debut recording, Tenbloom, found its way to 2013 and discovered their plans expanding somewhat in level. Their follow-up, Struggle Fairly, premiered a year later on, adding lush orchestral levels with their ever-evolving audio. The acclaim and interest garnered from both of these independent produces ushered in an archive deal with Solitary Lock Information, an Alabama-based label co-founded by John Paul White colored (the Civil Wars) and Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes). Both White colored and Tanner would find yourself co-producing Cent & Sparrow’s 2016 label debut Allow a Enthusiast Drown You.
