Peggy Scott & Jo Jo Benson

Duo comprising Peggy Scott (b. Peggy Stoutmeyer, 25 June 1948, Opp, Alabama, USA) and Jo Jo Benson (b. 1940, Columbia, Ohio, USA). Scott, a previous gospel vocalist, toured with Ben E. Ruler, until a vehicle accident pressured her to get a residency in an area group, the Swinging Sextet. Right here she fulfilled Benson, who experienced sung using the Chuck Willis display, the Upsetters as well as the Enchanters. Scott and Benson loved a significant US strike in 1968 using the effective ‘Enthusiast’s Vacation’, but despite additional achievement with ‘Pickin’ Crazy Hill Berries’ and ‘Spirit Tremble’, the companions were not able to sustain a profession together. Both consequently recorded as single functions, with Scott specifically cutting some good performances for Aged Town, Mercury Information, Malaco Information, RCA Information and SSS-International, for whom her cover edition of Brenda Holloway’s ‘Every TINY BIT Hurts’ was exceptional. The two performers briefly reunited in the first 80s, attaining moderate achievement with Nothing at all Can Stand INSIDE OUR Way.
