Pecker

Pecker may be the nom de dancefloor of Catalan indie electronic musician Raul Usieto Aquilue. Delivered in Spain’s Aragon area and currently located in the town of Barcelona, the guts of Spain’s growing indie pop picture, Pecker will take musical cues from performers as different as LCD Soundsystem, Fatboy Slim, and Daft Punk using one aspect and United kingdom twee pop works just like the Field Mice, Belle & Sebastian, and Saint Etienne for the various other. Originally referred to as Pequeño Pecker — and yes, which means “little male organ,” and yes, he’s quite alert to that — Aquilue debuted in 2004 with Diez con 1 Galaxia, offering the one “La Noche No Ha sido Em fun??o de Dormir.” Shortening his stage name to Pecker, Aquilue released two even more singles, “Souvenir” and “Encantadora Lunatica,” in 2006 and 2007. In 2007, Pecker jumped from your WEA dance-pop subsidiary East Western Records to some other Warner Bros.-associated label, the higher-profile Latin pop and rock en español imprint Nacional Information (Manu Chao, Mexican Institute of Sound, etc.). Collaborating along with his fresh labelmates and fellow Barcelona occupants the Pinker Shades, Pecker released his second recording, 2 con las Nadadoras, in summer time 2007.
