Influenced with the avant-garde pop of Belle & Sebastian, Regina Spektor, and Feist, Pearl & the Puppets is actually a single vehicle for multi-instrumentalist Katie Sutherland. Delivered and elevated in East Dunbartonshire, Sutherland was a classically educated woodwind musician before picking right up the guitar on the fairly late age group 19. Placing her ambition to be always a primary school instructor on keep, she remaining her degree program at Glasgow University or college, landed a posting agreement with Warner Chappell, and authorized handles both Elton John’s administration company, Twenty-First Performers, and Common Republic Information. After recruiting a long term backing music group, guitarist Gordon Turner, bassist Scott Clark, keyboardist Michael Abubakar, and drummer Blair McMillan, she used the name Pearl & the Puppets, and spent a lot of 2009 touring the Scottish event circuit and assisting famous brands Sugababes, Mika, and Elton John himself. Her debut recording, made by Stephen Road (Blur), David Kosten (Bat for Lashes), and Steve Chrisanthou (Corinne Bailey Rae), arrives for launch in early 2011.
