Paula

Biography

A Berlin based pop group, Germany’s Paula shaped in 1997 when founders Berend Intelmann and Elke Brauweiler met in a Family pet Shop Boys display in London. The set released their 1st recording, Himmelfahrt (in British, “Ascension”), in 2000 and released a set of singles. In 2001, the follow-up, Liebe (or “Like,” in British), premiered, which was quickly accompanied by Warum Berlin (or, “Why Berlin”). In 2005, Intelmann and guitarist Benjamin Schlez got their keep, and Brauweiler shifted into a more vigorous part with instrumentation. A more substantial music group roster was explored for concert events, but no resolved line-up was set up until around 2008, when Daniel Baumann got over on instrumentation and Barotti Marco got on drums. The initial lineup was set up for 2005’s Ruhig Blut (“Calm Bloodstream”), while 2008’s Therefore Wie Jetzt (“Just like Now”) featured the brand new membership.

#Quote
1 As a little girl I always dreamed of having a cosmetics contract, which was the cherry on top of 'making it' in my opinion.
2 Becoming a mother is the best thing that's happened to me.
3 First off let me say, I've wanted to be an actress since I was a little girl.
4 I love cola.
5 I think the age we're living in is starting to get scary.
6 I try not to have too many opinions; I just marvel at the world we live in.
7 I'm black because that's the way the world sees me.
8 If you have the capacity to love, you have the capacity to love anyone.
9 If you're an actress and even one person knows your name, you're lucky.
10 Sometimes I do yoga, sometimes it's kickboxing, sometimes it's weight training, sometimes it's Pilates.
11 The older I get, the more I accept and appreciate myself.
12 A movie is painting, it's photography, it's literature - because you have to have the screenplay - it's music. Put a different soundtrack to a comedy and it's a tragedy. A movie combines all those forms and forces you to pay attention for two hours with a group of people.
13 Making African American films are hard in Hollywood. We need to rely on a support network and bring more cohesion to different filmmakers, actors, producers etc. It's a very difficult business. There aren't a lot of Africans Americans or people of color in high positions in Hollywood that we can green-light films.
