Paula Parfitt

Little-known singer Paula Parfitt documented only one, but it’s zero slouch — “Love Is certainly Beautiful” continues to be among the accurate classics of blue-eyed North Soul. Virtually there is nothing known of Parfitt’s lifestyle before or after her short recording profession — she was created and elevated in London, putting your signature on to maker Milton Samuels’ regional Beacon label in 1969; “Like Is Gorgeous” was in fact slotted as the B-side of her lone solitary, behind the much less unforgettable “I’m Gonna OFFER YOU Back Your Band,” but it is the lilting, euphoric flipside that continues to be Parfitt’s legacy. Though not really a strike upon its preliminary release, “Like Is Gorgeous” first captivated notice when it had been resurrected in 1973 by enterprising DJs in the Bolton-based North soul membership Va-Va’s and was afterwards immortalized via regular exposure on the renowned Wigan Gambling house between 1976 and 1977. If Parfitt trim any subsequent information, they remain unidentified around this writing.
