b. 20 July 1934, Passaic, NJ, USA, d. 2 July 1994, Washington, DC, USA. A respected exponent of American folklore, Rinzler became familiar with traditional music during his teenagers. He analyzed in London under A.L. Lloyd and, in 1959, changed Eric Weissberg within the Greenbriar Males. An achieved mandolin participant, Rinzler performed with this important bluegrass appeal until 1964. Then became movie director of field analysis for the Newport Folk Celebration, and therefore undertook several documenting excursions with archivist Alan Lomax. 3 years afterwards Rinzler became movie director of the Celebration Of American Folklife on the Smithsonian Organization and embarked on a concurrent filming profession. His documentaries possess included two research of traditional pottery, while he provides released books about handicraft function and many folk performers, including Doc Watson and Uncle Dave Macon.
