Paul Dowell & the Dolphin

Chicago-born guitarist Nils Lofgren (1951-) produced his professional debut, in 1968, as an associate of Paul Dowell as well as the Dolphin. Although his playing helped to propel the band’s two singles, “GATHER” b/w “Gubb’s Blues” and “It’s EASIER TO Understand You” b/w “Last Period I Noticed You”, in 1968, Lofgren didn’t get national interest until teaming with Neil Teen half a 10 years later. A program pianist, guitarist and vocalist on Young’s 1970 record, After The Silver Rush, he became a member of Young”s backup music group, Crazy Equine in 1972. Carrying on to simultaneously business lead his own music group, Grin, he documented four albums between 1971 and 1974 and a self-titled single record in 1975. Lofgren provides remained among rock’s great sidemen. Performing with Bruce Springsteen’s E Road Music group since 1984, he toured with Ringo Starr’s All Superstar Music group in 1989.
