Paul Chihara

An American of Japanese descent, Chihara studied at Cornell University, with Gunther Schuller, Boulanger, and Ernst Pepping. He’s a teacher of music in the College or university of California at LA. He conducts the University’s collegium musicum and founded and directs the Double Ensemble. His fascination with Oriental music can be obvious in his music, and he utilizes the modified usage of vibrato, limited pitch motion, and microtones. He also uses electronically revised noises. His compositions consist of choral, chamber, and orchestral functions. His function Logs is several phrases which may be repeated and mixed in different purchases with modifications in sound.
