Patrick Gallois


Perhaps one of the most prominent single flutists within the post-Rampal period, Patrick Gallois studied with Jean-Pierre Rampal and Maxence Larrieu in the Paris Conservatory, where in age group 19 he won initial prize. He instantly became primary flutist within the orchestra of Lille, the main town nearest his hometown, and in 1977 he relocated to the main position within the French Country wide Orchestra, where he continued to be until 1984. From then on, he pursued an extremely successful career like a soloist, although he also founded his personal chamber orchestra, the Académe de Paris, in 1990, and since that time offers served like a visitor conductor with orchestras around European countries. In 2003 he became music movie director of Finland’s Jyväskylä Sinfonia.
