Patrick Andy

b. c.1965, Clarendon, Jamaica, West Indies. Andy started performing while still at college and in addition in church. Within the middle-70s he documented with Yabby You and protected several Horace Andy’s music. In 1978, associated with Position Barnabus, he discovered achievement with ‘Girl, Woman, Girl’ and in addition had a single strike with ‘My Angel’. Andy’s preliminary output led to a popularity as Horace Andy’s understudy, which demonstrated a hindrance to his profession. By the first 80s Andy started documenting with Joseph ‘Joe Joe’ Hookim at Route One where he liked strikes with ‘Tired Fe Lick WITHIN A Bush’ and ‘Pretty Me’. The label also released a clash record with Wayne Smith. In 1984 Andy released the favorite hits ‘Obtain Up, Stand Up’ and ‘Smiling’. His biggest achievement emerged in 1985 when he documented ‘Sting Me A Sting’ with Ruler Jammy, which emulated Glucose Minott operating the Sleng Teng tempo, made well-known by Andy’s outdated sparring partner Wayne Smith. Sleng Teng can be noted for causing the digital trend in reggae, although Andy’s edition used real music artists instead of a pc for the accompaniment. The achievement of the tune led to several strikes including ‘Lifestyle Is So Crazy’, ‘Speak Your Brain’, ‘Music Marketplace’, ‘Air conditioning Out’ and ‘What A Hell’. The last mentioned also proven the commonalities between his and Minott’s vocal phrasing, particularly if he sang, ‘Oh just what a hell once the grain can’t swell – Can’t obtain me drinking water outa the well’. Andy’s achievement also resulted in several clash albums with Fifty percent Pint, Frankie Jones and, paradoxically, Horace Andy.
