Partyline

Produced in Washington, D.C., in 2003, Partyline are vocalist Allison Wolfe, guitarist Angela Melksethian, and drummer Crystal Bradley. Though quite definitely a political music group — all six from the music on its self-titled 2005 Retard Disco debut EP chronicle public injustice and discontent by way of a girls-with-glasses eyes watch — what’s greatest about the music group is its dedication to having on the fast and furious custom of traditional punk. Though it’s leavened using a dosage of riot grrrl snarliness (test lyric: “I don’t wanna marry/I don’t wanna possess your brats/Yeah I needed a mom/She trained me to wish a lot more than that”), a BS-busting Ramones-era sensibility seeps through; these young ladies came together not only to revolutionize, but to rock and roll. Rings in Partyline’s previous consist of Bratmobile (Wolfe), Hott Defeat (Melksethian), as well as the Applicators (Bradley).
