Biography
Clarinetist Alain Marquet (formerly an associate of Charquet & Co.) and trombonist Daniel Barda (who was simply with the Great Society Jazz Music group) first frequently played alongside the Gilbert Leroux Washboard Group in 1987. When Bob Erdos of Stomp Off Information wished to record Marquet, Paris Washboard (consisting originally of Marquet, Barda, Leroux, and pianist Louis Mazetier) was produced. Their documenting of “When We’re Smiling” was therefore popular the fact that documenting group became a normal music group. Their spirited renditions of traditional jazz criteria was perfectly received, and shortly these were playing not merely in France however in Germany, Holland, Switzerland, New Zealand, and Australia. When Gilbert Leroux made a decision that he didn’t want to visit, he was changed by Gerard Bagot. Paris Washboard initial appeared in america on the 1993 Great Connecticut Traditional Jazz Festival plus they possess produced several return trips towards the U.S. since.
