Paktofonika

Paktofonika were a Polish hip-hop group founded in Katowice in 1998 by Magik (Piotr Łuszcz), Fokus (Wojtek Alszer), and Rahim (Sebastian Salbert). The group’s sound presented components of ragga, funk, and jazz, and presented introspective lyrics about personal challenges with an eventually empowering, positive message. The group were only available in 1998 when Magik remaining important hardcore rap group Kaliber 44, and Rahim remaining his group 3xKlan. Becoming a member of the trio of rappers had been turntablist DJ Bambus and beatboxer Sot. Paktofonika authorized to Gigant Information in springtime of 2000, and released debut full-length Kinematografia toward the finish of that yr. The recording was successful, hitting number 2 within the Polish graphs and being qualified precious metal. Tragically, Magik dedicated suicide eight times after the recording premiered. The group continuing carrying out without him, using recordings of his vocals during concerts. The group’s second and last recording, Archiwum Kinematografii, premiered in 2002, and contains outtakes using their debut, aswell as new tunes documented without Magik. Paktofonika performed their last concert in March of 2003, as well as the concert premiered on Dvd and blu-ray as Pożegnalny Koncert in Apr of 2004. Rahim, Fokus, and DJ Bambus continuing producing music as Pokahontaz. Jesteś Bogiem, a film about Paktofonika’s tale, premiered in 2012, and became probably the most effective Polish film of the entire year, winning several honours and spawning a gold-selling soundtrack.
