Biography
A talented veteran pianist/vocalist, Web page Cavanaugh and his trio (with guitarist Al Viola and bassist Lloyd Pratt) were very popular during the last mentioned fifty percent of the 1940s. Cavanaugh began acquiring piano lessons when he was nine. He found early experience using the Ernie Williamson music group (1938-1939). Within the armed service, he first fulfilled up with Viola and Pratt. After their release, the trio’s swinging playing (influenced from the Nat Ruler Cole Trio), plus their whispered vocals, produced them popular during the middle- to past due ’40s; amongst their best-sellers had been “The Three Bears,” “Walkin’ My Baby BACK,” and “Most of Me.” The group made an appearance in several films including A Music EXISTS and Romance for the Large Seas. Cavanaugh worked well steadily within the Los Angeles region for five years, going a septet (the Web page 7) in the first ’60s, and carrying out regularly along with his trio (which once more contains Al Viola) from the past due ’80s. His previously RCA times are difficult to acquire, but he documented in 1989 for Celebrity Line.
