Biography
A founding person in the Bothy Music group, fiddler Paddy Glackin still left to pursue a single career shortly prior to the music group launched their professional profession. Nevertheless, Glackin provides continuing to explore the fiddling of Ireland being a soloist and in cooperation with uillean pipes participant Robbie Hannan, multi-instrumentalist Donal Lunny, guitarist Michael O’Domhnaill and fiddler Paddy Keenan. Glackin’s fiddling may also be noticed on recordings by Truck Morrison, Kate Bush and John Cage. Blessed and elevated in the tiny Dublin community of Clontaif, Glackin was weaned over the Donegal design of fiddling performed by his dad, Tom. Glackin was similarly influenced with the playing of John Doherty, an itinerant fiddler from Donegal.
