Padar, Benton & 2XL

As the Eurovision Song Contest from the 2000s was quite definitely dominated by solo performers, 2001 noticed the event earned by the initial teaming of three separate performers, Estonian vocalist Tanel Padar, Aruba-born Dave Benton, as well as the Estonian hip-hop youngster band 2XL. Their earning entry, properly, was entitled “Everyone.” From the three, Padar was the most set up. The sibling of popular vocalist Gerli Padar, he was created on Oct 27, 1980, and surfaced on the neighborhood scene following success in it talent display Kaks Takti Ette in 1999. The next season, he was among the support vocalists when his partner, singer Ines, symbolized their homeland at Eurovision, before Padar himself got middle stage in 2001. Compatriots 2XL are better referred to as Spirit Militia — the name was briefly transformed for the competition. Coating up as Lauri Pihlap (Lowry), Sergei Morgun (Semy), Kaido Põldma (Craig), and Indrek Soom (Ince), the group have been around since 1997 and, being a three-piece (Ince give up in 2004), made an appearance on the Estonian Eurovision qualifiers in 2007. Their albums consist of 2002’s Increasing and 2004’s Silence Prior to the Surprise. Dave Benton was the veteran from the group. Delivered on January 31, 1951, Benton shifted to the U.S. in 1971, where he became an in-demand drummer, dealing with the Drifters, Tom Jones, the Platters, and Billy Sea, among numerous others. He relocated to holland in the 1980s, where he fulfilled his Estonian-born wife, Maris, while on a luxury cruise. The couple resolved in Estonia in 1997.
