b. Pablo Lubadika Porthos, 1952, Inongo, Zaire. Vocalist and guitarist Pablo initial came to the eye of Western european African music aficionados in the first 80s, following a release of Isle Information’ soukous compilation recording, Sound D’Afrique, as well as the paths ‘Mbanda’ and ‘Madeleina’. By this time around, he had been a major celebrity in Zaire, having worked well through the 70s with such rings as Orchestre Kara, Kim Bantous and Lovy Du Zaire. He was also presented on Sam Mangwana’s 1st major strike, ‘Georgette Eckins’. Having been asked to become listed on Les Quatre Etoiles in 1984, he dropped, preferring to pursue a single career like a vocalist, along with a program career like a guitarist. His 1st UK launch was Pablo Pablo Pablo in 1985, but later on he would focus almost specifically on program function in Paris.
