Biography
A spirit vocalist who originated from a family group of gospel singers, Pat (P.P.) Arnold started singing like a four-year-old. She got her begin backing Bobby Day time before being asked to become listed on the Ikettes, support Ike and Tina Turner. Arnold toured together within the ’60s, including one stint using the Rolling Rocks. Mick Jagger persuaded her to stay in London, and she later on documented for the Immediate label (after that run from the Rocks’ supervisor Andrew Loog Oldham). Loog Oldham, Jagger, and Mike Hurst created Arnold’s debut LP, THE VERY FIRST Woman of Immediate, in 1967, including the solitary “THE VERY FIRST Cut May be the Deepest,” that was written by Kitty Stevens and later on popularized by Pole Stewart.
