Out Hud

Since their 1996 formation within the Bay Section of California, Out Hud has performed a complex but danceable make of indie rock and roll with debts owed to disco, dub, and post-punk. Ahead of their 2002 debut recording for Kranky, the group released several vinyl-only singles and EPs (for Crimson Alert, Deceased Turtle, GSL, and 5 Rue Christine), constructed a little word-of-mouth pursuing through their concert events — which frequently caused usually sessile indie rockers to dance — and relocated to NY. The group includes bassist Nic Give, cellist Molly Schnick, guitarist Tyler Pope, and drummer/vocalist Phyllis Forbes; also, they are aided by blending plank operator Justin truck der Volgen. Give, Pope, and truck der Volgen talk about account in !!! (pronounced “chk chk chk”) aswell. Let Us Hardly ever Talk about It Once again, the group’s second record, premiered by Kranky in early 2005.
