Otto Ackermann

Delivered in Bucharest, in 1909, Otto Ackermann was a significant operatic conductor within the German custom. His initial professional placement was at the Düsseldorf Opera Home, where he was appointed Kappelmeister in 1927, after completing his musical research on the Royal Academy of Bucharest as well as the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin. In 1932, he became Key Kapellmeister on the German Movie theater of Brno, Czechoslovakia, staying there until 1935. That season, he transferred to Switzerland in 1935, where he was key Kapellmeister from the Berne Municipal Movie theater from 1935 to 1947. Globe Battle II prevented the introduction of an international profession, which waited before years from 1949, when he mainly worked within the Zurich Opera, where he was primary conductor from 1949 to 1953. He became movie director from the Cologne Opera Home in 1955 and came back to Zurich in 1958. Through the 1950s, he started to appear more often as visitor conductor and was specifically valued like a conductor of the best operettas and of Mozart’s operas. He most regularly guest conducted in the Vienna Condition Opera. Ackermann, who passed away in 1960, remaining several appreciated recordings, including a Léhar and Johann Strauss, operattas, and many orchestral track recordings with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf.
